We are updating talent banks for the following positions.
Morning Show Team, Hosts and co-host: You understand the Blues and what defines great local radio. Your passion for radio keeps your personality relevant to the people of your community. You are community minded and dive into remotes, weekend shifts. You are the face of the station. You and your co-host are looking for that fresh start to build your show from the ground up on a brand new radio station. You are an innovator, not a yes man/woman. You will get out and connect in person, as well as tell a great story on the air.
News Director In this job you will: · Create and operate within assigned and approved budgets. · Work in unison with programming to improve current product offerings. · Recruit, retain, manage and develop a strong radio news team. · Ensure news stories in the region are covered on a daily basis by assigning reporters to attend and produce content for radio and web. · Developing community contacts. · Vacation relief for anchor · Facilitate news meetings, working with team members to brainstorm story ideas and co-ordinate news coverage. · Have a Degree or Diploma from a recognized Broadcast/Journalism Program or equivalent experience. · 3 years experience News Anchor/Reporters In this job you will: - Write and present newscasts - Generate original stories - Update and contribute news stories - Report on local and regional stories as assigned - Contribute to the Talk Shows - Contribute to special programming
Skills/Qualifications: - 3-5 years of experience as a broadcast journalist - Strong writing and presentation skills - Strong research and interviewing skills - Ability to handle shift work - Ability to develop original In-depth stories
Creative Writers In this job you will:
Write commercial and promotional scripts Work closely with producers and sales team Campaign planning Provide internal and external customer service Demonstrate your commercial and organizational skill
Skills/Qualifications: Post Secondary education in Broadcasting or Advertising. Strong administrative skills. Must have a strong creative portfolio. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Must be detailed oriented. Ability to multi-task. Must be able to meet tight deadlines Able to work either independently or as a team player Computer literacy in Word/Office required. CBSI knowledge an asset. On-Air or Voice-Over experience is an asset
Promotions Co-coordinators In this job you will: Assist Promotions Director in developing on-air campaigns. Assist in the development and preparation of sales promotions. Coordinate and execute promotional campaigns. Maintain a detailed promotional calendar. Coordinate all listener contests and prizing. Maintain promotional signage, draw boxes, entry forms and equipment. Coordinate station promotional airtime. Attend all major station promotions and designated client promotions as needed. Maintain & improve station community profile and activities. Assist in managing inventory of prizing and promotional airtime. Maintain station vehicles and imaging tools. Attend and participate in weekly meetings as required. Maintain winner data base and daily updates on website. Other duties as assigned by Promotions Director.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 2 years experience in radio promotions. On-air/voice tracking experience an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and passion to succeed. Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Account Executives: In this job you will: • A positive outlook and a creative mind • At least one to two years experience in sales • Strong communication, learning, listening, and organizational skills • Understand what it means to create a solid business relationship with clients and support staff. • The desire and ability to develop and manage a retail sales list. • A competitive, determined spirit • An appreciation of small community culture • A desire to grow within our company. • Computer skills required must include: Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook
